Curry Camp is not only about hoops. It is about preparing the next generation of student-athletes for the game of life. Last week, I had the honor of experiencing this invitation-only event firsthand.

What Makes Curry Camp Unique

Hosted by Under Armour and 4x NBA Champion Stephen Curry, Curry Camp brings together 34 of the nation’s top high school boys and girls basketball players from powerhouse programs like Bullis, St. John’s, IMG, Montverde, The Newman School, Blair Academy and St. James Academy.

What sets this camp apart is its holistic approach to developing young athletes:

Conversations Off the Court

Beyond the drills and games, I connected with NBA scouts, collegiate coaches, current college athletes, and parents. Our discussions often centered on the evolving pressures of collegiate sports, particularly Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

For many families, this new landscape means considering strategies such as a postgraduate year or reclassing to ensure their student-athlete is fully prepared academically, athletically, and emotionally for the next level.

Why This Matters for Families

At Henry Charles Consulting, I help student-athletes navigate this path. The insights and access I gain from experiences like Curry Camp directly benefit the families I serve, offering perspective on how best to prepare for both the opportunities and the challenges of collegiate athletics.

Looking Ahead

I am grateful for the opportunity to witness Curry Camp in action. The lessons learned reaffirm my commitment to helping the next generation of student-athletes reach their full potential in the classroom, on the court, and in life.
